Environmental Sustainability

We recognize the fundamental importance of conserving the environment. We strive to find sustainable solutions that include the use of renewable and recyclable materials, conservation of energy and water, reduced packaging, application of emerging technologies, and the elimination of waste. We have allied with organizations to help us advance our sustainability goals, including the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Leaders Program and the Carbon Disclosure Project. From two-sided copying on 100 percent recycled paper to converting our company cars to hybrids, we are working toward a more sustainable future.

To help us meet our goal to be one of the sustainability leaders in the consumer packaged goods sector, we established a corporate Eco Office to coordinate the effort across our operations. We also have tapped the creativity and commitment of our employees through the creation of the Eco Network, a group of more than 250 employee volunteers helping us identify and implement ways to make Clorox and our consumer offerings more sustainable.
